Responsibility vs. ownership

I love how the English language differentiates between the two words “responsibility” and “ownership”.
We are all responsible for something. Every employee has at least one responsibility. Yet, it is true ownership that makes high performers succeed.
Some shine with their titles and like to highlight their responsibilities. Others don’t promote themselves, but instead truly own a topic.
When you own something,
it needn’t necessarily be in your area of responsibility.
you want to improve a situation or a process.
you push proactively and won’t give up until you reach your goal.
you don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do (next).
it’s not about you against them - it’s about us.
Ownership is key to success.
The more employees your organization has who are true owners, the better the culture and the more the company will achieve in total.
