Interconnection

When I go to a different country, I always feel it’s Agnes, the German, in a foreign country. Like now, I feel German in Waterford, Ireland.
And while I truly enjoy the team and the West site and everything, I feel foreign in a way.
Like a tourist going to a country and then returning home by leaving the country.
Just now I realized that there can be a different perspective.
By spending four days in Waterford, a small piece of me becomes Irish. I soak in the energy that is here. I learn from the people. I spend some time in their environment. All of that becomes a part of me. Forever.
And the other way around as well: I share some bits of Agnes with Ireland. I represent myself, and West, and HR, and Germany. They learn about me and my perspective. It will affect them in a way.
My nationality might be German, but I have multiple cultures and environments within me, and that’s awesome.
I need to think about that interconnection much more and not create barriers in my mind.
