Make a difference

Sometimes it is one question or one piece of advice that sticks with us.

Sometimes it unfolds its importance for us only after years. It seemed meaningless or small at the time we received it, but grew in importance when our life circumstances changed.

For me, one of those examples was our CHRO asking us to reflect on how we can make a difference on every single day.

I liked that thought from the beginning, but it developed for me with the years.

And it particularly helped me on days when I felt stuck or unproductive.

I looked for a different perspective on my work or for something small which would help someone else on that day.

These are the main questions which still help me go into this mindset:

How can I contribute to the company‘s success today?

How can I make a difference?

What can I incorporate into today’s tasks that will shape the company’s future?

It is not just about seeing the meaning in my work. It is a mindshift to being a creator - of my own life and of my organization‘s wellbeing.
